This sounds like an excellent opportunity, Carol. Do you know how we nominate for it?

I'm not sure if that was the way to do it, but I went to the QWC website where the courses and workshops were listed, clicked on the email address and registered my interest in that one and a couple of others that will be coming up to Cairns later in the year. I've just realised too that there is an email address in the notice Carol posted above.

Hi Tim, Mary is correct. You can either phone or email Sarah Gory. After the meeting on Saturday I will send a confirmation email of the people who let me know they have/wish to enrol.
As you can see it is worth being a TW member. Group membership has covered us for this workshop. These workshops normally cost approx. $100-$150.

Cheers, Carol.
I have just emailed Sarah Gory nominating myself and Geraldine as starters.
It sounds great, really looking forward to it.
Thanks,
Tim

It will be nice to meet you and Geraldine 'in the flesh' and nice for you to meet some Tropical Writers. I understand the workshop was open to some other regional writers as well, so it filled pretty quickly. Cheers Carol

Likewise for us, it'll be nice to meet the Tropical Writers who attend. I hope there weren't too many who wanted to go and missed out due numbers.
Look forward to seeing you there,
Tim & Geraldine

Thanks to everyone involved in organising the Angela Slatter workshop - that was an excellent experience, and it was really good to meet the Tropical Writers who were there.
I haven't attended anything like that before, so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but I felt Angela knew her stuff and put it across well. The writing exercises were useful and good fun, and I came away feeling motivated to get stuck in and get words down.
Could have done without the drive through torrential rain between Kuranda and Mareeba on the way home - crawling along with the wipers hammering as hard as they could but achieving very little - but it was all worth it!
Cheers,
Tim

I agree, Tim-a worthwhile experience, and how fortunate were we to have it all free of charge as well! The day went very quickly, so that is a good indication of how engaged we were. As you said, the exercises were fun, and motivational (although I think my motivation still needs to rev up a notch or three!). Good to be among friends on the day as well. Cheers.

I finished a 600 word story today. I couldn't believe it. I cut the waffle and got straight to the point using the notes as a guide. Normally I write the proverbial ... before getting to the point. Thanks Angela!
